Birthstone Bracelets by Month: A Year of Meaningful Gifts
When you are choosing a gift and do not know where to start, birthstones are the oldest shortcut there is. A stone tied to the month someone was born reads as thoughtful without needing an explanation — it says I thought about you specifically.
Here is the traditional birthstone for every month, along with the natural-stone interpretation we carry at Gritstone. We work only with genuine natural gemstones and freshwater pearls, so where the classic stone is out of reach (nobody needs to buy a diamond bracelet in April), we suggest a natural stone that carries the same spirit.
January — Garnet
Deep red, associated with protection and loyalty. Our take: red agate with black onyx — warm red grounded in black.
February — Amethyst
The stone of calm and clear thinking. We carry it raw, polished and in double points — start with the Amethyst & Petal Baroque Pearl Bracelet.
March — Aquamarine
Pale sea-blue, tied to courage and calm water. See the Freshwater Pearl, White Quartz & Aquamarine Bracelet.
April — Diamond
Clarity and strength. Our natural-stone answer is clear quartz — luminous, honest, and far more personal.
May — Emerald
Green, growth, renewal. Try prehnite or green fluorite for that soft translucent green.
June — Pearl
The easiest month of all: June is the pearl month, and freshwater baroque pearls are the heart of everything we make. Any piece in our Best Sellers qualifies.
July — Ruby
Passion and vitality. Our warm-red interpretation is carnelian.
August — Peridot
Light green, associated with good fortune. Amazonite carries the same fresh, optimistic tone.
September — Sapphire
Deep blue, wisdom and truth. Ours is lapis lazuli — night-sky blue flecked with gold.
October — Opal
Iridescence and play of light. Baroque pearls do the same thing naturally — see the Baroque Stick Pearl & White Quartz Bracelet.
November — Citrine
One of the few months where the classic stone is exactly what we carry: warm golden citrine, the sunshine stone.
December — Turquoise
Sky blue and protective. See the Tiger Eye & Turquoise Bracelet.
